Welcome to the Cardrona Play Park website. Here you will find out all the latest news as we attempt to raise money to provide a play area for our children.
Fantastic News!! We have now secured £30,000 in grants. These are from SBC Landfill tax £20,000 and £5,000 each from the Robertson Trust and the Gannochy Trust. With our community fundraising and kind donations we now have £33,500.
We will be applying for £10,000 from Awards for All and a further £5,000 from Garfield Western too and, if successful, we would then have almost £50,000.
Scottish Borders Counci have agreed to ‘adopt’ the park for us at no cost which is fantastic news. This means the park will be insured, inpsected and maintained for us without any ongoing financial burden on us. Thank you to the parks dept at SBC for this.
Scottish Borders Council have also agreed to help us significantly in reaching our target of £70,000 – so long as we can raise at least £50,000. We may fall just short of this so are planning a big fundraising push shortly – keep watching for more details!
All in all we have been very well supported by the local council and thank them enormously!
AND THE BEST BIT! – WE SHOULD HAVE OUR PARK BY THE SPRING!!
